Ryan leads the Land Development and Investment Practice for Sunesis Properties, overseeing the development of large-scale residential projects, including subdivision planning and construction. He has strategically focused the practice on perfecting core competencies, delivering high quality design details, and maintaining responsiveness to market conditions. Beyond development, Ryan continues to seek and drive acquisitions to support Sunesis’ long term development plan.
A Cincinnati native, Ryan devoted his early career to serving as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy. As a Weapons Systems Officer, he flew F/A-18 Super Hornet jets and completed 3 combat deployments on the aircraft carrier USS Eisenhower in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. Logging over 1,200 flight hours and 300 carrier landings, Ryan was selected to serve as a Naval ROTC instructor at Arizona State University. At ASU, Ryan mentored future Naval Officers and taught courses on leadership and Naval Science.
Ryan earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Jacksonville University and a master’s degree in Real Estate Development from Arizona State University. His professional associations include the Urban Land Institute (ULI).
